Sy Smith sings of “Camelot” in Africa

Written by on March 17, 2020

Sy Smith’s dreamy single “Camelot” speaks of a love affair that feels so real, but is a fantasy all the same. In the video, Sy re-imagines the concept of Camelot – instead of being a fairytale-like castle set in Old England, Camelot is quite literally East Africa – Tanzania to be specific. The video opens with scenes from the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar, then takes the viewers on safari to northern regions of Tanzania – Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, and Tarangire National Park. As the camera captures the beauty of this region of the earth, viewers may wonder if Sy’s love interest is even a person at all… because these visuals make it easy to fall in love with Tanzania. Directed by Shawn Carter Peterson @ShawnTheMaestro. Shot on an iPhone 10 on location in Tanzania, East Africa. Camelot was written/produced by Sy Smith and appears on her critically-acclaimed album “Sometimes A Rose Will Grow In Concrete” – available on all digital platforms.
